Welcome to the Consultants Collective’s first Insights post, and to be honest, also my own very first web post! No, I have no idea how I managed to escape this until into my 40s.
With the internet drowning in various blogs, articles, talks etc, we know that yet another set of repetitive opinions isn’t really needed. But we still often find ourselves searching online for insights into the questions and challenges occupying our minds and not quite hitting the answers.
So, with our Insights page, we are aiming to provide fresh thinking on current and upcoming hot topics, questions that are, or will be, at the front of mind for organisations and leaders. Whether these are old problems that need a new answer or helping you to anticipate future changes.
But what does Reclaiming Authenticity have to do with this…
Anyone who has worked on a values or competency framework knows that all the time and pain it demands is rarely reflected in the final version. When we were exploring, debating, arguing about what we really stand for at the Consultants Collective, the term ‘authenticity’ proved particularly contentious.
But this was a really important concept for us. A large reason for striking out on our own was because we didn’t feel like we were able to be ourselves, let alone our best selves, in our previous worlds. However, a writer friend suggested that ‘authentic’ has become a buzzword, losing meaning and legitimacy.
So at the Collective we want to re-instill meaning into authenticity. As a leadership and talent consultant, supporting people to find the space where they can be their best, genuine, most authentic selves is a, if not the most, critical part of enabling people (and organisations) to be successful and fulfilled. Our members work with us because they are genuine experts in their fields, they know when they are right people for a project and just as importantly when they are not.
The same ethos lies behind the connections we make with you, we only post Insights when we have something meaningful to add to the conversation. Sign up here to have Insights dropped directly to your inbox, no spam and we don’t share your details. Just new thoughts on the opportunities and challenges facing leaders today.
